I bought these at an estate sale a while ago. Not sure if I should restore them or leave them as they are. What would you do? The 65 Riv and the 65 Dodge are pretty nice but the custom parts for the Dodge are UGLY!!! The 61 Ford is so-so except it looks like the paint didnt cover too well. The 60 Ford is brush painted and is probably the worst of the four. All of the unused custom and stock parts are in the boxes along with the instructions and the decals. What do you guys think?

Oh yea, I had George Barris autograph the Riv box at a car show a few years ago!!

Those are pretty nice. Normally, I would say dunk 'em and re-do them. In this case I'm going to say leave them as they are. Just clean them up and display them. I truly wish I had that Dodge Monaco. That's one of my long time wishes to own.

It is up to you if you like em the way they are clean and display.if you got a hankerin' to build one do that . it is all about what you like . some times I like the style modelers were building in that era and keeping an example of years gone by is neat to have on hand.

Dont rebuild them at all. Personaly if i had the money(which i dont) i would by the rivera of off you. I wouldnt touch them. Just dust them off and display them

Dust 'em off and put them on the shelf while you decide. If you get the urge to redo one, go for it.

It's a hobby, it's to enjoy. If you think rebuilding one is what's going to bring maximum joy, then do it without hesitation!

Dad I think you oughta display em. I love these cars and you're too critical. :P I think they're neat and all in all they are decent builds. I know you don't like all the phones and tv s and junk that are in the interior. Personally I love that Riv. Can I have it? I am your son... Please.... Ok nevermind. B) -Will

Just send thoes offenders my way i'll make sure the get a good home . i'm like tho other i like restoring them but in this case they are nice built ups and would not touch them . i have been collecting some neat built up customs from the early 60s that would be a shame to restore . but in the end they are yours and feel free to enjoy

Put them in a glass case with the boxes as a back drop and enjoy for the rest of time. Too much of the past is lost already(I know). Richard

You might be fortunate with that 60 ford. If you choose to rebuild it, all of those layers of brush paint can act as a barrier to the glue. I've found that in many instances that the glue sticks to the paint without touching the body. I agree that they are time machines, and it would be nice to leave them as they are.
