ajulia Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 You guys and gals if any' are rockin the house these builds are def coming along an the best thing about it is everyone bringing sumptin diff. Sorry aint been around much but its hard building and being on the comp.. So every one keep on wit the keepin on!!.. I started building and have to say that weathering is the S#@!. Really can make a build stick out like a sore thumb. I joined the build-off to kinda jump in the water with aging the builds and well this is where Ima at. Im still undecided if I will make the build as a racer who crapped the bed "sorta speak' with a dio or just a racer in the display case. I chose the 72-or-ish mustang obviously because it says MACHO! but it def got that Mad Max look to her so here is MACHO DIABLO! I used a very small solder tip and went to town on the body for the weld beads and a rounded tip for the pockmarks pretty cool tool for this use actually and make body damaged using the body itself and to make all the armor well most. I ll be using the styrene for the windows and other openings and using a different style of hood.. Im digging the openings in the armor you guys are using to be able to see but i figure wouldnt hurt to get some tech in the battle horse.. The chassis almost done.... and the engine next!!!
kjadud0667 Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 looking good ajulia im not a mustang guy but that has a mean looking bodyline to it . and i like the detail sofar

(cause honestly im not totally sure myself yet.... haha but i have a few ideas)

jarheadndn Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 heres one i built last year, for the box stock contest. only extra thang on the build was the plug wires, the rest came from a Mark Martin nascar kit. and i used alot of the box and instructions to built it!!! Semper Die was the final name for it!!! did i mention that i love to build these type cars???? i really do
Darrell Gwinn Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 u should put it on a hinge soo it can open up and have a machine gun on it . It is hinged, gullwing style. As for whats in it will either be some missiles or a machine gun

diymirage Posted August 31, 2008 Author Posted August 31, 2008 welcome aboard jones that looks like a pretty good platofrm you got there i might have to put hydros on mine so i scoot right underneath it good job on the suspension i used to always use peices of the spruce (you know, the trees that hold the actual parts) to make lift blocks but then i read about the styrene stuff, turns out you can buy little rods, tubes, sheets and whatnot of the same material the kits are made of at specialised hobby shops so i'm using those now and that works awesome you might want to keep that in mind for the rest of the build
Clay Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 I did use some styrene for the front. cut strips in and put it in between the chassis and the front suspension. Plan on doing the windows tonight and posibbly statring the weapons, 2 gatlin guns, and a few other shoot'em ups.
