Is anyone still working on this? Interest seems to have dropped off. I'm still working on the weapons for the Spartan. I hope to have paint down soon. I've also come up with a plan for replicating fresh bullet dings. Could be interesting.

I really havent had the time to work on it. Plus I dont really have any war models to scavage weapons from either.

I am still working on mine well actually working out the plan for mine . hopefully I will get it done by the deadline and not have to claim that mine has a working scale cloaking device.

Hey all. Finally got a minute to get in the forum and snoop around. I expected more progress over the past month... hmm. Maybe I won't be so far behind when I get back at it afterall. The pics that are posted do look great!!!

Zero progress on my Death Wagon since last post. Spending the week in a 1 bedroom aptmt and driving back tothe house/family on weekends. Don't have time nor space to do anything. I did however bring a few cars to the office to stare at and keep me motivated to "get back at it".

Kasteer don't sweat the small stuff. Like most of us here I was off like a gun when we started this, then as I progressed I started remembering the other four builds in the works. Some of which with CBP deadlines approaching so the Spartan took a back seat. However I have one build at the 95% mark and as soon as I finish it, I'll be down to just two WIP's and I'll be back at the deathraces.

I'm still in. I worked on gathering a few things last night and hope to get some bench time for it this weekend.

Ok, after trying to figure out the kit to start with I finally decided on this Lexus LS 400 that I got a long time ago and has been sitting around ever since. I figured I may as well use it on the Death Race project. I've got an idea on how I want it to look now and will be getting started right after I finish this post. I'll try and work on it often and post my progress. I'm very excited to do a build that won't be so important to make everything perfect but rather to have a lot more fun making it look nasty. I'm trying to come up with a name for it so hopefully it will come to me as I get into the build. Thanks for such a fun project idea.

Well here she sits prior to paint. After this it went right to the paint booth for a coat of gold and afterwards..................I hate it. I'm kicking around the idea of painting it a semi-gloss black and just using the gold on the side armor pannels with my red graphics. A big part of the problem was that I've made it so huge and tank like it looks terrible in such a bright color. I have also let the laws of physics haunt me. I have modified the chassis to allow some huge military HumVee wheels and tires rather than the Corvette street tires I'd planned. It looks more "real" now but doesn't look as low and aggressive. It looks like a anti-riot vehicle more than a racer. I feel I've totally overdone the vehicle. I'll post up a pic before I do anything drastic so that we can all share an "eww!" moment. If I had not completely destroyed the chassis to make the HumVee tires fit, I'd scrap the whole exo-cage idea and tear the thing appart.

Got two, but only gonna use the one on the front right

Ok guys, been 'welding' more and more iron to the PonyAckAckAck.

Gonna be one HEAVY pony.

Armoured webcams on entry/escape hatch.

Scored this little gun off'n a wrecked Klingon warbird. Still need BIG gun.

Big plates to protect driver (big weights ). Gotta find a place for them

straws, too.........for fresh air vent.

Can't wait to start sloppin paint on this sled.
