My original 67 GTX, started back in 2002. Painted with auto touch up paint, I polished it out but then the hood cracked big time. I threw it in a box and got another.

17 years later, I'm looking at my collection of 67 GTX/Coronet parts and started playing with this one. I figured I could repaint it and use the upscale interior from the Coronet 440 for it. I even got some wide Goodyear tires for the rear using the slick backing plates that come with it.

I will need to fix the new paint as well! It is painted semi-gloss Testors' lacquer and there are some bad parts on the fenders and a little on the hood. If I can get the body acceptable I'm thinking of Blazing black on it.

instead of giving the body a bath in the purple pond I'm thinking of attacking just the bad areas with some of the cleaner on a rag.  I'm not out anything if it doesn't work and I save some time if it does :-)

I over thought the fix for this one. I just grabbed some sand paper and sanded down the bad spots, then shot it with Tamiya metallic black with a clear coat from testors.

Lots of dust on that last picture!
