This is the engine that was in a built 1961 Mercury Monterey I bought on the bay. In all of my research I have not seen an air cleaner/carb set up like this. I'd like to convert the engine to a Ford 352 as found in the '61 Monterey. Is there a readily available kit that includes a nice example of a 352 or any suggestions on how to convert this engine? Thanks

The chassis from the '60 Starliner should work fine with some modifications.
The standard engine in the Starliner is supposed to be a 352 High Performance so it doesn't have the air cleaner in your picture as the HP engines had open element air cleaners, and the exhaust manifolds are also different as they have individual runners.
But the air cleaner can be found in the '58 Edsel kit wich also has a nice FE (unfortunately a bit under scale), the '66 Thunderbird also has this air cleaner and I looked in the '62 Thunderbird kit wich also has a nice FE and the air cleaner is similar but wider and more low profile to clear the hood, it has the standard non HP exhaust manifolds tho'.
As Brian says, the engine in the '60 Starliner kit is the best early FE out there and if you have the 2 'N 1 kit you get parts to do most of the FE versions that was available up to the mid 60's...except for the mentioned air cleaner and exhaus manifolds.
