1972 Satellite Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 This afternoon I managed to get 3/4 of a spray can of Panther Pink into a 2oz glass jar. It sat for 5+ hours and I opened it and a little hiss of gas came out. I shook it up later and opened it and the thing spilled pink everywhere. Same reaction just a couple minutes ago. So my question is "what the heck?". Off to dip my hands in thinner to remove this Barney the Dinosaur color.
Guest Gramps-xrds Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Dummy, you didn't let it gas out. leave the top off for 4 or 5 hrs, or add some lacquer thinner and it'll gas out sooner.
1972 Satellite Posted September 3, 2008 Author Posted September 3, 2008 I thought I did, but I guess it takes more than a few minutes. It sits now with the lid off until tomorrow morn.
diymirage Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 pink huh ? i need that for my chevy bell aire (if i ever get back round to it)
Brendan Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Besides putting lacquer thinner in it, I also use a toothpick for when I'm pouring it into my holding container it gives something for the bubbles to come off on. But do it slowly since it could easily spill up and over. Also it will help gassing off quicker.
MikeMc Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Decant into a large mouth jar ,no more than 1/2 full....If you set this in a pie pan of warm water and SLOWLY stir it will fizz and gas out quickly....but don't decant too much at a time...just what you are gonna use!
