Furiousgeorge Posted May 6, 2019 Posted May 6, 2019 This marks the 5th year (I think?) that I’ve entered this contest, and the third year my kids have entered with me. My kids (8 yr old boy, 12 yr old girl, 14 yr old boy) each entered one build in the junior class, and I entered 10 builds, all in civilian automotive (one in compitition, two in street, and seven in Factory Stock). This year they awarded ribbons for first, second and third (red, blue and white respectively) instead of medals that they’ve done previously. The kids won all three, with my daughter winning the Greg Empy award for outstanding junior entry. Very proud of them! I won 5 ribbons. Factory Stock; Red ribbon and best of class award- ‘69 Daytona Blue ribbon- ‘69 GTX White ribbon- ‘71 Duster Street; Red ribbon- ‘70 GTX Competition; Blue ribbon- ‘68 Dart Everyone had fun seeing what there was to see. It was great seeing the kids figuring out how other people did certain things, and hearing them plan what they want to do for next years contest (though I still haven't talked my wife into building one yet!). The red Ferrari is my oldest sons (red ribbon). The flamed Willy’s truck is my daughters (blue ribbon). The gold GTO is my youngest sons (white ribbon). The rest are mine, most or all of which I’ve posted here before.
tmb727 Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 To paraphrase Robert Shaw in the movie "Jaws": "You're gonna need a bigger shelf..." For all that contest bling! Well done by all. Nice to see your kids enjoying the hobby too.
