crowe-t Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 Is there a good hobby acrylic that looks like Chevy Orange engine paint? Is Testors International Orange close?
Snake45 Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 Testor makes Chevy Engine Red in an acrylic, and it's pretty good stuff.

It's red-orange, and it's absolutely correct for all big blocks (from 1965) and many small blocks of the late '60s. The Tonawanda-built 350 in my '69 Camaro SS was that color, for example. I know the '70 LT1s were that color. If you want the pure orange of the late '50s-early '60s small blocks, Testor little bottle orange is a near perfect match for that. Yes, I know that's an enamel, but that's the color you're looking for. (I've been trying to find out for years when the Chevy Engine Red started to appear on small blocks, and/or which ones, with no success.)
