drodg Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 (edited) So I have decided to build a kit of my red 1:1 65 Coronet 500 with a red P/L kit. I had a white metallic in my stash that I am building without any detail or much detail anyhow to practice. I know these kits can be a little rough so this is my practice run. I will detail out the red kit. I bought one off of Ebay and I think the color is not far off from my bright red 1:1 Coronet so I would like to just polish and foil if I can. I will obviously paint the interior and engine etc on the red kit. This is kinda fun though building a kit basically straight from the box. I couldn't resist painting the exhaust and I am using wsw decal/vinyl stickers for the tires. Try to ignore the place mat the car is on.... Btw as I posted in another section has anyone had luck doing up a better headlight for this grill? That I think is a real weak point in the kit. I kinda wanted to try to do something with the headlights but not sure what. Thanks Edited September 19, 2019 by drodg added pictures
drodg Posted September 19, 2019 Author Posted September 19, 2019 The second picture is my grandson doing a photo shoot of my 1:1 for a high school project last fall. I think it was called something like histories. So we shot the car with an old building in our local town in the background.
drodg Posted September 27, 2019 Author Posted September 27, 2019 I am continuing to work on the basic Polar Lights kit with a red one sitting ready for me to fully detail. I worked on the grill with some black wash and with a suggestion for the headlights from another post here I used Faspearl white Faskolor paint on the headlights. I still need to do a little more to the grill and I obviously need to do some more work centering the wsw's. The wsw's are viny decals and they may be too old. I have had hard time removing them from the contact paper once they are on the tire and very hard to center.
