I am building a Polar Lights 65 Coronet and trying to apply the Pegasus wsw vinyl transfers to the tires but having kind of a hard time.  I am at the office so I cannot post pictures but I know what you are supposed to do with the contact paper on top of the decals and pressing down on the tire.  I leave the vinyl wsw transfer on for a few minutes but once I start pulling the top paper off the wsw  it comes off the tire also.  If I just try to apply them without the contact paper I cannot for the life of me get them centered or where they look even around the tire.  So asking here for some help on maybe a better method.  I have applied water style wsw or redline decals over the years and never really had an issue with them looking correct.  I hope this makes sense.  Anyhow thanks in advance for the advice.

I'm not familiar with these, but have done a lot of real vinyl graphics over the years.  If the masking is not removing, try wetting the masking on top a little to get it to release from the vinyl easier.   Also maybe rub the whole thing a bit after applying but before wetting and do so vigorously to get some friction heat into the vinyl adhesive to help it stick more aggressively.  Or hair dryer heat, which will help the vinyl stick and conform better.   Make sure the tires are clean and oil free as much as possible before sticking the transfers.  These are things you can try to get the masking to release.  Seem like the older the masking gets, the harder it gets to release from vinyl decals.

Good luck.  Post photos if you get a chance - I'm sure others have or will face this again and if we can help...

Thanks Randy.  I am going to go home this evening and try it.  I will post pictures.  I am so frustrated with this.

Randy I thank you for the  tips.  I do believe I need to buy a fresher set for my next build.   Here is the finished car that I also posted Under Glass.

Car looks great.  Sorry you're having issues.   Even if you order a new set, they may be old.  I mean, Pegasus may have ordered a big load of them years ago?  So they may still be same lot or old.   Hard to tell.   Let me know if I can help any more.  be glad to try.
