its been since 1992 since my favorite teams the Pirates have even finished the season above .500 so I don't pay much attention to post season baseball anymore. Its a good think the Steelers and the Pens are playing right now. it helps up forget about the Pirates.

I live in the town that's been the spring traing home for the Pirates for what seems like forever. Their spring traing stadium, McKechnie Field, is less than 10 minutes from my house so spring traing games are a definite "to-do" in March-April! :)

Yeah, that stadium down there is a piece of work.

Yeah, but at least our grounds keeper doesn't allow a DITCH at the front of the mound for the pitcher's plant foot!

Yeah, I know all about the ChiSox head groundskeeper's tricks - watering the dirt around home plate to deaden bunts, letting the grass grow tall to slow the ground balls...... :)

However he is known as one of the best in MLB.

Ah, true gamesmanship................. :P

Let's see.....1st pitch for game 4 (the last of the year for the Sox!) is in about an hour.............

GO RAYS!

It was the same mound that Danks was using!

They didn't go in there between innings and rig the mound before the Ray's pitcher came out!!! Whatever he was complaining about was the same conditions that Danks was pitching under.

Yeah, Roger Bossard is known as the best groundskeeper in the business. Other teams hire him to do their groundskeeping. In fact he was hired by the Cubs to redo their field surface last year.

BTW, I guess is really is possible for the Sox to win a game without hitting 5-6 homers! :)

15 minutes to first pitch...

C'mon Gregg... the Yankees haven't scored a touchdown in ages! :o

BTW.. Congrats to the Rays. They took it to us and came out on top. They're a very good team... I hope they go all the way. B)

As for me... B) well, I guess it's now officially FOOTBALL SEASON! Go Bears! :o

And that's the end of that!

6-2 final score.........RAYS WIN! RAYS WIN!

And take the series 3 games to 1. Now on to the ALCS against the LA Angels or thhe much hated Boston Red Sox. Both are teams the Rays have winning records against this year!

I gotta hand it to the ChiSox, though. They certainly fought hard to get into the position they were in. Now the nation gets to see just how talented - and dangerous - this Tampa Bay team is.

Thanks, Harry, for allowing me to play along. I appreciate the "gamesmanship" ! :o

Good luck...............NEXT YEAR! ;)

By the way, the Buccaneers already beat 'da Bears, didn't they? After the Bears held a 4th quarter lead? And IN Chicago, too......... :o

Don't get me started on the Bears! B)

Yeah, da Bears blew two games where they had the lead. Poor coaching and bad play calling, IMO. I think Lovie Smith needs to be sent somewhere else, and Ron Turner needs to be on that same plane! I'm SO tired of Ron Turner's dink and dunk offensive scheme. I think that maybe he saw the light a little bit in Detroit and let Orton fling a few passes downfield...FINALLY! And what happened? Well, Orton had his biggest passing game, yardage-wise, ever!

The biggest thing holding back the Bear's offense, IMO, is Ron Turner's very conservative play calling. B)

Ok, enuff Chicago sports talk... I'm probably boring the whole rest of you! Back to models... :o
