www.compresins.com also has some 1/16 stuff.

EDIT: Dear 1/16th lovers... Does someone manufacture a 1/16th funny car chassis ????

There are engines, wheels, tires, bodies, decals, etc... all available BUT I can't find a chassis. (some of us aren't that good at scratch build  )

Please, pretty please.

You have two choices when it comes to kitted F/C chassis- Revell or Aurora Revell are affordable, Aurora are expensive. Aurora are a bit more detailed but are slightly shorter then the universal Revell chassis.

Aftermarket chassis? Nope.

Very true. I've purchased a few 1/16th scale F/C parts from them (5-spoke American front wheels) and was pleased with the quality: www.compresins.com

I've also created and cast a few 1/16th drag racing wheels a few years ago, including front & rear Cragar S/S, front and rear Halibrand mags, and some front American 12-spokes, all designed to fit the Revell F/C tires.

Does anybody make vintage style hot rod tires and wheels, (tall bias ply type). How about '32 Ford bodies?

Right now I have a repop mold of the stang steelies, but not for the tires. Sorry

You could source the stock tires from any of the AMT '55 or '57 Chevy kits, like these:

Tires are Firestone Super Baloon Deluxe Champion 7.10-15 and are 1-11/16" in actual diameter, wheels are steel and measure 1-1/32" outside diameter.

I have the '55 Chevy, '57 Vette, and '55 T-bird kits, none of the tires in them look right for a vintage hot rod to me. They need to be taller and skinnier. Even the wheels don't appear quite right, 30's Ford wheels are larger in diameter. This is the main issue that's kept me from building hot rods in 1/16 scale. I have plenty of molding and casting experience but I don't want to build a 1/16 scale hot rod bad enough to take the time and effort to master up some wheels and tires, even if I was confident I could do a competent job of it, (I'm not.). It's a shame, those Minicraft Model A Ford kits are just screaming to be built into true nostalgia rods. If we just had '32 Ford frame rails and proper vintage wheels/tires we'd have everything we need to build an awesome late 40's AV8 lakes racer.
