Jim B Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 So I decided that I would torture myself and start the AMT Plymouth Valiant Scamp Short Track race car. Other than fitment being terrible, and placement being vague at times; I have no idea what #1 is in the photo below. The instructions call for it to be Body Color with black highlights (no idea why I wrote aluminum there). Does any one know what #1 is supposed to be? Some sort of cockpit cooling fan maybe? Thanks.
jokar124 Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 (edited) It appears to be a battery box (oops! Misread the numbers, disregard) Edited March 17, 2020 by jokar124
Casey Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 (edited) That's the differential gear oil cooler. Here's one in place from another topic in the NASCAR section: Even better pic at this link, if you scroll down the page: http://speedrevolutions.com/content/no-petty-achievement-1971-richard-petty-plymouth-road-runner/ Edited March 17, 2020 by Casey
Jim B Posted March 17, 2020 Author Posted March 17, 2020 Thanks, Casey. Now I know what it is & what it looks like.
BubbaBrown Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 Round thing looks like a rear end cooler, square thing looks like an oil reserve for the engine if they had dry sump system, or maybe a battery.
