robertburns Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 Hello all, I'd like to introduce my first resin car body. This is a custom car called "The Bellagio". It's based on the 1962 Chevy Bel Air. The resin body is a conversion for the AMT Ertl 62 Chevy kit. One must buy the 62 Chevy for the hood, bumpers, head and tail lights, plus the Revell C5 coupe for the glass and interior. Builder must kitbash or scratchbuild a chassis. These will be sold for a limited time for $25 each, plus $7 shipping within the U.S. Please e-mail me for international destinations. I take MOs and Pay Pal to this e-mail address: robertburnsjr101@yahoo.com Gregg, I'll be sending one yourway soon. Thank you, Robert The master body: Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki

rollinoldskoo Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 interesting idea..... but why such a long hatchback and not a trunk?
robertburns Posted November 10, 2008 Author Posted November 10, 2008 interesting idea..... but why such a long hatchback and not a trunk? Thanks ROS. It doesn't have to be a hatchback if you don't want it to be
robertburns Posted November 10, 2008 Author Posted November 10, 2008 Since I want to sell more of these items, the price has been reduced to $15. Thank you, Robert
The Creative Explorer Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 I might be interested. Robert, what else do you offer?
Gregg Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Robert does some great work! I looked at the "trunk" area, or lack thereof, and I see a trunk, IMHO. Why not make your kit, that you buy, open from the rear to the back of the window? The lines are there, and yes, it's super long trunk, but that would mean more room for my photo gear, right? Robert did a fantastic tear drop kit that I have (ashambably) not finished, although I do have koa wood floors in it. Robert, I am trying to set up and do another show here probably in February, which will be the start of the MCM-NNL National series of shows across the country. I'll post more info this week. Guys, Pick up this kit, and BUILD IT!!!!!!
Gray Smith Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 Robert, that looks great..if I had the model funds i'd order once since i've got a parts 62 and c5 vette...i'm going thru a nasty battle over my little girl with my ex and have zero money... if you still have some when I do have some fun money again i'll get one. Gray
robertburns Posted November 19, 2008 Author Posted November 19, 2008 I might be interested. Robert, what else do you offer? Nothing else car related, but I'll be offering more items later on. Thanks

Steven Zimmerman Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 For what its worth from one who's been doing masters (and selling resin) for a few years.....your casting looks great, but you might think about doing a hood and including it(for a few bucks more) From your pictures,it looks like the stock hood might need some 're-contouring' to fit your body at the cowl. Believe it or not, this WILL make a big differance to some prospective buyers................Steve Zimmerman, aka the'Z'man

Also, do you have any bodies you want me to mold? Thanks, Robert
Scalefinishes Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 These are so cool, I just ordered one. As for the he back. It looks fine to me, but It would be easy enough to rescribe a trunk. Robert, how about building the 789? I would definitely buy one of those also. http://www.n2amotors.com/index.html I can't wait to build the Bellagio. Jameston
Scalefinishes Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 (edited) interesting idea..... but why such a long hatchback and not a trunk? Or maybe an El Camino bed? Hosted on Fotki This body was really nice and needed a very small amount of cleanup. Jameston Edited December 19, 2008 by Scalefinishes
robertburns Posted December 20, 2008 Author Posted December 20, 2008 Cool! Are you going to make it an opening trunk or do an El Camino? Thanks, R
Scalefinishes Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 El Camino, I almost have the bed floor made. I'm waiting for a 62 Chevy model before I build the sides. As soon as I get the interior done I'll post more pics. Jameston
Scalefinishes Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Due to a series of setbacks this had taken the back burner. Now it's coming together! I just got the bed roughed in. Here's a pic. I'm off work all weekend, and plan to get this finished by Saturday at the latest. It should be in paint by then also. Updates as they come. Jameston
