I dont't understand how folk can build a car on a weekend... I've had my fair share of troubles like this, Bud....it sucks, but i'm glad you are still cracking on with it!!....Nice repair!!! The only way i can see how people build so fast, is with the use of a dehydrator.
Funkychiken Posted May 30, 2020 Author Posted May 30, 2020 This tail light is not playing ball. Worried about applying a tamiya masking tape over the smoke, I gave it a clear coat with PVA through the airbrush. let it dry overnight, then masked the light areas and spayed black. When removing the tape, the tape had melted the clear. strange. you can't tell in the picture, I'm just going to clear coat it now, its the last piece of this puzzle...
Funkychiken Posted June 15, 2020 Author Posted June 15, 2020 THIS is done now Not perfect, you can see the crack in the tail light where it split. The clear coat went down perfectly - and made the haze from the tamiya tape clean up too. TO be honest I was spurred on by Alex, who has probably already finished his, but I was trying to get mine over teh finish line first - seeing as I started it well over a month ago! still the quickest finish for me.... next up will be finished pics
Italianhorses Posted June 16, 2020 Posted June 16, 2020 Nah, I waited for you to be done! I honestly had to work all weekend and haven't even touched models. Looks great! Awesome save on the taillight - I can't even see the crack anymore. Is the emblem on the back - decal?

The Mazda "name" and and Emblam were decals that came with the kit, the RX-7 was hand painted with Acylics (if you want a JPEG of the decal sheet, I might have it). Thanks for holding up on yours!
