PLASTIC FANTASY Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 I have an old container of Testors Model Master "Simulated Carpeting" I bought many years ago Part # 50594C. I don't know if Testors even makes this anymore. The instructions on the back recommend using Testors Glue No 3515. Has anyone used this glue to flock with? I know this glue can be used for installing kit glass. Many modelers use water base glues flocking. I prefer not to do this in case the model ever needs to be cleaned. I am afraid water would undermined the glue. One of areas that I need to flock was sprayed with lacquer. So using paint to attach the flocking is out of the question at this point. I'm curious if anyone has used Testers 3515 any other clear parts type glue for flocking.
Dave G. Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Never tried that, I've used slightly thinned enamel paint before and that should go over the lacquer ok just test it first. I've seen on here where guys have used Future/Pledge with good results, that's what I'll probably do in the future no pun intended assuming I ever flock again. Those products should go over the lacquer fine.
PLASTIC FANTASY Posted April 11, 2020 Author Posted April 11, 2020 Dave G. Thank you for the info and reply.

DiscoRover007 Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 (edited) It's basically white glue. Personally I switched to automotive spray adhesive. It gives the most realistic look for 1.24 scale in my opinion. It lays down much better than any paint or glue combination. It takes a little more work though. You have mask everything but the carpet off. It takes a few applications but works really well. Edited April 12, 2020 by DiscoRover007
