Ralphie Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Just sprayed a body with a Pearl Wicked Color water base paint, first time I used it. Question is as it is water base I need to do a few things to it before I clear it. When I am ready to clear it can I wash the body in soapy water before I spray the clear, in other words is it washable with soap or will that damage the paint job. Thanks !
Jon Haigwood Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 (edited) Just clear it. water will wash the paint off Don't wet sand either Edited April 20, 2020 by Jon Haigwood
Ralphie Posted April 20, 2020 Author Posted April 20, 2020 So I can't touch the body with my fingers ? I don't want to leave any oils on the surface. Haven't touched it yet.
Jon Haigwood Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 I have never had a problem with it but I would why take a chance . Createx has a inter coat clear that will help protect it and you can tape some stripes on it without pulling up the paint.
Ralphie Posted April 20, 2020 Author Posted April 20, 2020 Thanks, haven't touched it so when better weather comes will clear coat it. Rainy now.
El Roberto Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 If you're worried about oily fingerprints you could use latex gloves. I always use gloves after painting a model while working on it.
