Some more progress. I really wanted to use the supercharger and carb I got in the mail but sadly my makeshift one is glued in tight and it aint budging, kinda a shame but if I ever build another one of these I would have a supercharger.

I think she's just about done! Although still a bit more to go. I'm still happen to be missing the spare tire as well as the door handles, the ladder of which I made some out of solder. Strangely enough I think that they must have changed this kit a few times as I have discovered that the original grill that came with this car sits a little bit lower, other thinks like the wheel hubs not fitting into the wheels, the exhaust hoses not fitting under the hood, and even the rear bumpers not fitting up perfectly. Luckily iv been able to slightly modify the parts iv gotten so far to fit properly, and it still looks good AAs far as I'm concerned. This may be put off for a few weeks though as I'm currently waiting for the shipment of my final touches, other then that paint is done, clear coat is done (enough. Clear that I can see my darn finger prints) body is assembled, and almost about all the chrome is installed! I really do appreciate every one who's helped me out with parts so far I really couldn't be more thankful :)

Wow! Jealous of your ability to get things done. My rod project is headed in a different direction, but I haven't had time to make an inch of progress with it. Hope some of the leftover parts from my pile were helpful, and glad they went to a good home if they did.

For sure helpful! That's where the tires came from :) as well as many other parts! Still waiting on the wood lights though, I do apreiceate all the Headlights but the wood lights to me would really be the cherry on top for this kit.

Great! The Woodlights would definitely make it distinctly different.

Woolights just came in, already painted the one, looks like i can finish this very soon.

Now THAT is a unique look.  You mentioned that the Johan kit had been retooled.  Not true.  What happened is parts came out of my Mercedes parts box. Likely,  yours truly mixed up Monogram, Heller and Johan Mercedes parts. Sorry if that created problems for you. The model is looking great though!

Hay no issue and no problems, i can always make the engine exhaust pipes/hoses work. regardless glad your enjoying the work done! at first i thought the wood lights looked too small, but after some time it doesn't look as bad.

Overall I think this looks amazing!  I found one of these in a vendors box of old built ups at a show and it was a gluey mess! And of course he wanted enough that I felt I could get a new one!  Still looking!

Well.. with a little bit of time and help from LDO, i was able to put the final touches (spare tires, fuel tank, and exhaust) on the 500k. i can now say for sure that it is 100% complete! ill put a link to the under glass as soon as possible. Now it may just be the Canadian in me, but i think i should mention that I really do appreciate everyone's help on not only sending me parts, but helping me figure out what car from what kit i was even working on, rebuilding something that i remember collecting dust for the majority of my life so far. Thankfully now it can collect dust properly in my display cabinet :)

I'm glad I found this thread.  I have just started building this kit.  New in box, Johan 1935 Mercedes 500K.

But I am building it as a hot rod. I am cutting the fenders off, putting 50's era mag wheels on it, and leaving the hood off. So I have been searching for engine photos so I can detail the engine up right.
