David Thibodeau Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Here is the chassis complete before Body attatchment. And here is the completed car. Sun was a little overbearing here it is!!
crispy Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Another grand slam build David! Beautiful. What CF decals did you utilize? And, after you applied them, it appears that you clear coated them, if so what did you use? I have to admit I was sneaking peeks at your fotki while you were building this. The build process alone was worth watching. Chris
Mike Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 GREAT looking build again as usual Dave. I've got the Studio 23 aftermarket decals to do mine. Did you use something else?
RadRidesByDan Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 ###### that looks sharp......the decal and detail work is beautifully done. I like all the carbon fiber detailing you did to the car. I take it the real one is just as loaded with the CF as your build My hat goes off to you.
VictorSmalls Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Great work. All of carbon fiber makes it look really authentic. I am also interested in where the carbon decals came from.
ismaelg Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Guess what! I LOVE it! DUH! Great job Dave.... Wanna race? You may remember mine, built last year.... http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6995 I'm slowly working on a few more versions, but yours make me want to jump to that version now... Thanks,
kingiguana Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Looks great, and that first complete photo outside, looks almost real. If Your base was grey instead of black, it would have blended with the drive way, and really looked like the real thing. Great detail !
David Thibodeau Posted October 26, 2008 Author Posted October 26, 2008 Thanks guys, Crispy. To you and the others. the decals are in the SMS superkit. They are 1/24 Twill weave from Scale motorsports all in templates in the kit. They are cleared on the belly tray and spoiler with Dupont Chromaclear. Izzy, I figured this would get you going.... take a break from that Jorgenson resin brick and do the #3 car to go with mine!!! :) DaveT
crispy Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Dave, Thanks. I'm an idiot. I have the kit and forgot they were in there! Thanks for the answers. Chris
Nick F40 Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Holy ###### this is awsome! I love it, I love all the details, this is so pretty.
Brendan Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Very nicely built car. I was going to do the other version of the car at some point. Here's some pictures of the Corvette from Laguna Seca 2008 in a slightly different paint scheme.
JHDrew Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Very impressive as always! Thanks for sharing.
Clay Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 That is one slick ride Dave, I hope you have your NASCAR skills still brewing, cause I will ask for your services soon enough
weirich1 Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Now you need to the #3 BBV C6-R; awesome job on this one (as always)
