  1. That sure is a amazing looking El Camino. Besides the 59, yours is one of my favorite body styles. I hope to see some pictures of it all buttoned and out at a carshow sometime. I know I have been plugging away on mine getting ready for the GM show in Carlisle, PA. Any chance you are going to attend if finished?
  2. I made the switch earlier in the year to an airbrush from rattle can. The quality of your paint jobs will be so much better after switching to the airbrush. I have not yet invested in a spray booth. but have a dedicated area that I do my painting in. At this point I have tried a couple Badger brushes but found a cheap ebay brush as my personal favorite. I have a ton of tamiya and testors paints that I have removed from the can and put into bottles for future airbrushing. I also use House of Kolor paints and Kandies that I have from painting 1:1 cars with an airbrush. For model cars I still like the spray can clears from Tamiya. Good luck brother.
  3. I also like the look of red for this car. The stance and wheel selection is great as well.
  4. I progressed just a bit over the last couple days. The basic paint scheme is down just needs some touch up and a pinstripe. The chassis on the front end it pretty much figured out and the back half is starting. This should give an idea of where this is heading.
  5. I have no problems on the site. Is the problem that you can't click on any of the links to go and visit the product pages? Have you tried to clear your browser cookies or try another browser altogether?
  6. Thanks for the kind words guys. The kit came with 2 grill setups. I do not have directions to this kit but I believe the grill I used along with the flairs are all for a 4WD version. They seem to suit this project well though.
  7. I didn't think I would find many metal guys on a forum like this but you guys proved me wrong. Mushroom Head As I Lay Dying All That Remains Hatebreed Sevendust Tool A Perfect Circle CKY a little punk here and there.
  8. I really like the wheels and the stance. Nice work
  9. Welcome to the forum. Nice to see some of the new stuff out there grabbing your interest.
  10. Wow Matt, quite a stack you have there. Easy to see what kind of models you are into.
  11. Hello everyone. I took about a 6 month break from models to work on some 1:1 cars and move across the state for work. At this point, I am working on a 66 427 Fairlane and this 94 Sonoma. The plans for the truck are to be a turbo six bagged street truck. So far I have scratch build a roll pan, shaved everything, and added the flares from the kit for a wider stance. Any advise is appreciated and I will be posting more pics of my progress. Engine so far Body in second coat of white base Thanks for the inspiration guys.
  12. The engine is going into a 66 Fairlane. I am not looking for a masterful copy of the linkage, but would like something more than just adding in the fuel lines like I always do. I took a look at a great fotki page with all sorts of engine bay photos, so that gave me some idea of where to start. Thanks for the input guys.
  13. Welcome back. I am located in Freeport at the moment. I would say that even thought it is a haul the best option for you would be the Three Rivers Automodelers. Its a good time and you can meet some nice people.
  14. Anyone have any thoughts? At this point I an just "winging it" and it is going pretty well. I just want it to look realistic and correct.
  15. I'm loving the fenders. Very realistic.
  16. I have used them for pin stripping. Might not be the best method, but the best I could think of at the time.
  17. Great foil work. Nice job over all so far.
  18. Thanks for the great information guys. I will also be checking these guys out.
