Lyle Willits Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Installed the 302 Ford from the Revell '32 Ford kit. Wheels are from AMT Chrysler 300. Grille is two '54 DeSoto grilles combined to make it longer. Grille bullets are the spot lights from the Revell Merc kit. Stock '49 Merc tailights are from the AMT '53 Ford F-100 kit.
Dragon7665 Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Wow Looks Amazing Lyle!!!! The Carson Top, and Chopped Windshield Frame looks like they were borrowed from AMT's 50 Ford Vert.....

It looks very good Lyle On picture #3 the Boot looks a little ill fitting in that picture. Does that boot come with the model? do you get the top too? Gabriel

Nope. Has nothing to do with the '50 Ford. The chopped windshield is simply a result of removing the roof from the Revell Merc. The top is completely handmade from several pieces, including part of the original "hard" roof. I spent about 3 weeks getting the Carson just right. From January, 2008

LOL There are no green highlights. That's my camera. I set the white balance, then used a gray backround. Notice the shadows under the car are also green. I may have to redo these pics.
HotRodaSaurus Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 Can I just say I love the fadeaway , anyone else notice this? This seems to be a feature of not that too many original 1-1 Mercs, most famous would be Gil Ayala's for Louis Bettancourt and Sam Barris's first Merc. Thanks for showing, John
John Goschke Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 Beautiful! That color is great! Wonder what it'd look like with skirts?
