CAL Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 The 53 corvette very first one. Now they are leaving Lemans probaly in 2014-2016 more likely that is what i have heard. Well that's a long way off, a lot could happen between now and then. They are leaving GT1 because no competition, though only for GT2. However, they will probably have a GT1 at LeMans until the money dries up, but they haven't been real strong at LeMans the past couple years. Ferrari's beat em up Astin's beat em up, they beat themselves up... They have limited RD money and are using an old car.
gasman Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 read a few weeks ago that the Corvette may not even be around in 2014. GM has pushed back plans for the C7, and the current C6 will last until 2012. Corvette sales are down (big surprise ). two seaters are on the way out at GM. they recently canceled plans for a replacement to the Pontiac Solstice/Saturn Sky/Opel GT

Brendan Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Here's a couple of pictures that will hold you over. When I was at the races, I talked to one of the head guys for Corvette and he was explaining that they were going to hold off on the C7 until the economy picked up. As far as he knew, they were not going to be cancelling the Corvettes, especially in racing. He was saying that they had too big of a following now.
