Jim B Posted June 27, 2020 Posted June 27, 2020 Does anyone know the Fruehauf & Wilson model numbers for these AMT trailers? Just for general curiosity. Thanks
Chuckyg1 Posted June 27, 2020 Posted June 27, 2020 Don't have a clue as to the #'s, but it sure does remind me of Ice Road Truckers.
Force Posted June 27, 2020 Posted June 27, 2020 All these has been reissued several times with different numbers, but as far as I know these are the first. The Wilson Lifestock Trailer had T-594 at the initial release 1972 The Fruehauf Van Semi-Trailer had T-507 1971 The Fruehauf Tanker had T-506 1971 The Fruehauf Exterior Post Van had T-524 1972
Jim B Posted June 27, 2020 Author Posted June 27, 2020 Thanks, Håkan; but that's not what I was looking for. I am looking for the Fruehauf & Wilson model numbers, not the AMT model numbers. It's good information, though.
grodudulle77 Posted June 27, 2020 Posted June 27, 2020 Hello Jim , the van trailer with beaded panels is Fruehauf FBZ F2 40 ( for 40 feet).
grodudulle77 Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 (edited) I’m building this trailer , this kit is hard to build , the assemblies are very imprecise and plastic is not of very good quality ( # Evergreen styrene quality) . However it is a very detailed and interesting trailer . Is it the same with others trailers ? Philippe. Edited June 28, 2020 by grodudulle77
Jim B Posted June 28, 2020 Author Posted June 28, 2020 Philippe, if I remember correctly, I glued angle stock along the upper & lower seams on the side walls to give the floor & roof something to mount to. I had no plans on opening the trailer up, so that really helped stiffen up the box. If you want another challenge, try the AMT tank trailer.
grodudulle77 Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 Thanks Jim , i think the word « challenge « is the right word for Amt trailer kits ! ???
Deuces ll Posted June 30, 2020 Posted June 30, 2020 Just ordered the "Lowboy" trailer.... Hope I don't have any problems with that one.....??
Jim B Posted June 30, 2020 Author Posted June 30, 2020 (edited) I have the AMT Lowboy trailer, but I haven't built it yet. I also have the AMT Flatbed trailer. I don't have a Fruehauf model number for the for the flatbed, but the Load King lowboy is a FB34D (I think), with a 75T capacity. Edited July 3, 2020 by Jim B
