68 Firebird

My buddy stopped by the other day and dropped of a buttload of built cars and trucks. SCORE!
This Firebird caught my eye primarily because it wasn't loaded down with glue.

After stripping her down I only found one problem. Deviated septum. ;D

One of my uncles had a red '68 with the inline ohc 6 in it with a glide.....

Thanks Gene, I'll try not to disappoint...

I disassembled the engine so I could paint the block

 

Then I figured go ahead and wire it too.

Then got a splash of color on the body

and decorated some of the guts. Here I used the molotow chrome pen, some home made bmf, fake veneer shelf liner, printed off some guages from an image search of 68 Firebird guages, sharpie detailing on the radio and some white, black and red paint

I've never gone this crazy on a dash before

Putting on the final touches...

Test fit the body to see the stance. Looks a little high in the front.

I've never taken a build this far before. Battery cables, radiator hoses, heater hoses, coil wire, distributor wires, brake lines and fuel lines.
