This car is a 1958 - 1961 Simca Vedette Chambrod. It was powered by a 2400c ccm V8. This V8 was based on the Ford V8-60 Flathead. The name and the engine were carriy overs from Ford. Ford had sold in 1954 there french subsidiary to Simca. So from 10954 there were no more Ford Vedettes only Somca VedetetsThe Vedette was also build in Brasilia  and it was named Chambrod. This brazilian car could also be ordere with the EMI-SUL V8 which was aflathead with OHV heads like the Adrun heads on the 239 and 255 cui flattys. Henry Ford's first mass production V8, the good old flathead, was sold from 1954 t0 1966 from Chrysler
