The name and the engine were carriy overs from Ford. Ford had sold in 1954 there french subsidiary to Simca. So from 10954 there were no more Ford Vedettes only Somca VedetetsThe Vedette was also build in Brasilia and it was named Chambrod. This brazilian car could also be ordere with the EMI-SUL V8 which was aflathead with OHV heads like the Adrun heads on the 239 and 255 cui flattys. Richard Bartrop Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 I got faked out by this one. I figured it had to be something Soviet or South American, but the headlights should have been an obvious clue.
