1972coronet Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 That stuff was the rage back in the 80's ! Virtually every article in S.A.E. at least mentioned it in some fashion . I didn't get around to trying it until the early 90's , and was impressed with it back then . Heck , I still have the 2nd jar of the stuff that I bought almost 20 years ago ! It's still good !

I think that is about the time I bought the jar I have. As you said it's still as good as ever. The only thing I ever foresee using it for is to polish colored plastic on a kit that I'm not going to paint.

Time for a spoon test! Spray two plastic spoons using the same process and paints you used to paint the car, and let them dry. Wax one with The Treatment, and apply an unused decal from the Chevelle kit. With the second one, apply the Chevelle decal first, then wax it. See which, if either, has better results. You'll have your answer. Of course, if the Chevelle was a once in a lifetime paint job you could never replicate again, things get a little tougher.

I got a good looking paint job, and the perfect color, so I ain't gonna mess with it. I'll try the Treatment on something else some day.
SSNJim Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 I totally understand - paint jobs I am quite happy with are few and far between. Most are decent, but not great. It is still an interesting question and bears further investigation. Maybe I'll give it a try. I've got some very old The Treatment around here. Good luck with the rest of the build!
