E St. Kruiser50 Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Hey all Thought it would be fun to share this When I was down at Seaside Oregon a few years ago, at a huge week-end cruize-inn, this T-Bird really got my attention. Never seen one this color before and it just GRABBED me. I was able to walk up to the car and look it over in a parking lot, and it was stunning. Just perfect. But no camera. I ran back to the motel to get it, and just as I was getting back, the owner was driving away. I waved my arms and yelled at him, like crazy car freaks do some times , and he stopped and let me take some pics. Really nice guy, turns out. Anyway, I built it last year, and it's still one of my favorite builds. I love the color. This is a '56 Monogram kit that I modified. The top and rear bumper are scratch built, and the badging decals I got from a guy in Canada, and their really nice. I keep it in a special place in my "Building Cave" where I can look and enjoy. Hope you enjoy too - Dave "The Cave" - LOL
Raul_Perez Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Those are some serious tires on that little T-Bird, Dave!! How about a few pics of the seriously modified green VW? Later,
MrObsessive Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Love that little 'Bird Dave! I built one too based on the '56 Monogram years ago..........Same color! BTW, the 1:1 you based it on is painted "Thunderbird Blue" which is really a sort of aqua. '55's are my favorite T-Birds with the '57's next in line. The '56's aren't bad, I just don't care for that continental kit hanging out in the back. It seems like everytime I saw one on the road, the front end was sittin' up too high for me!

randx0 Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 (edited) Dave you never fail to deliver the goods. I also like the early 'birds and have one on the docket very similar to yours except mine will likely be red.As an aside I've always liked the Hot Wheels T-bird Edited November 9, 2008 by randx0

cruz Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Don't care for the oversized rims and tires but a nice build nonetheless!!
E St. Kruiser50 Posted November 12, 2008 Author Posted November 12, 2008 (edited) I know about the wheel/tire thing Marcus. Guy's usually like 'um or hate 'um . No problem. As you can see in this pic, I build what I drive. Just can't get past "The Look". This is my "Nasty looking" supercharged T-Bird sitting on the ground, with Extra Large", 10 inch wide Neepers. What a blast to drive. Edited November 12, 2008 by Treehugger Dave
