tim boyd Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 (edited) Hemmings has now posted online the story they ran in the latest issue of Hemmings Classic Cars. In it Rick Hanmore relates "How my model car almost wrecked Dad's new Riviera". It's a fun read, and I bet we could all tell a story not too dissimilar from Rick's from back in our early days of modeling. And congrats, Rick, for brining more awareness of our hobby to the full size magazine crowd...TIMI Edited October 8, 2020 by tim boyd

The grocery store I go to that usually stocks that magazine arbitrarily decided to stop stocking it, and in these days of isolation, it's the only place I go out to.
Corvair Guy Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 As a teenager in the early 60s I was and still am a serious car geek. I built many model car kits in those days. But where to paint during our cold Chicago winters? So I devised a plywood panel with a round 10 inch hole and attached an old stove hood exhaust fan which I would insert into my partially opened bedroom window. With a large cardboard box with a compatible hole in the bottom placed in front of the fan on a table I had a spray booth. Worked great for a couple years until my Dad discovered the multi colored circle on the window screen. Ray Johnson
