James Maynard Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 Ok guys I just got some Smokey and The Bandit decals for my Snowman truck it the mail. My question is how exactly do I apply them to my truck/trailer. Are they water slide like the regular decals that come with all kits, or do I paste them on? I paid $40 for these and just don't want to mess them up.
stitchdup Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 from the modeltruckin website; As a reminder for some of the ones not familiar with my decals, these are printed on clear waterslide paper. Simply cut and dip in warm water for a few moments til the decal loosens from the paper. These are not peel & stick. Decal setting solution is not necessary, but can be used. This can be picked up at any hobby shop or even at Hobby Lobby.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 Make sure to use warm water. The water will cool off pretty quickly, so keep it warm. I’ve always had to use setting solution to get the decals to lay down on the trailer ribs. Be careful the decals will tear very easily. If you use decal set, be sparing at first to make sure the ink doesn’t bleed on the decals. Don’t ask how I know this can happen. ?
