Nick F40 Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 (edited) On SPEED even! I know I'm surprised too. Fans and followers were unsure. They have always done good coverage but I am actually quite pleased with this year! They started Wednesday with two classes, T2 and Formula Mazda, I kind of forgot about it so I forgot to record it, nice, but I woke up early enough today not for the 3:00am viewing of the T2 class but the 4:00am running of the Formula Mazda and boy was it good and if this is what I have to look up to for future Wednesdays, then I am extremly excited for all the other classes. I know they already happened but the TV coverage starts. They will run coverage every Wednesday from of course this Wednesday with Formula Mazda and T2, to the beginning of Febuary, I think the 11th. Each Wednesday they will show two classes. One at 12:00PM and one at 1:00 pm and repeats of those classes the next morning at 3:00 am and 4:00 am. Again, I am actually pleased with the coverage, barely any commercials, great amounts of racing, great hosts, and an hour long? you kidding me??? I was thinking more like 30 minutes for each race but hey I am definetly not complaining. Even though they are on at dumb times, not too many people might be able to actually see them during the day or early morning, it's like the winter months with V8 Supercars, BTCC and DTM. They even had time for interviews at the end! YEAH! They actually have a heart! and for SCCA! and the SCCA lovers! I am actually happy that they are showing the FULL and UP TO DATE Formula Drift series/championship too but I am actually pleased with how SPEED is actually giving us this with great coverage and all the classes as they seem to only want to show their stupid shows later instead of this, which personally I think would get more viewers and more people watching SPEED and the coverage, but if you don't have the schedule or don't already know about it then you won't see them becuase they are practically hidden, no commercials. can't wait for next Wednesday........ E Production, love the production classes, The Miatas and swarms of Mazdas and some Super 7's (Caterhams) etc.are now in it and such. Bugeyes and Sprites and Minis and all them are still in H Production right? SCHEDULE here you go, look at it, print it out and thumbtack it up in front of you at your work bench or whatever, enjoy http://www.scca.com/documents/2008%20Runof...-tvschedule.pdf for people that don't know or haven't really heard of them, here is what it's all about! although if you clicked on this you probably know what the Runoffs are. VIDEOS this is actually the 08 F Production race Spec Miata I'm partial to the H Production class I love WRC and ALMS and F1 and BTCC and Speed World Challenge but dang is this my favorite!!! rollover Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Thanks for the schedule, as an old Formula Ford racer now I know what, when and where to watch!
Guest promodmerc Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Where did they run them this year? Last year they ran them at Heartland Park. I wish I could have made it
Nick F40 Posted November 14, 2008 Author Posted November 14, 2008 (edited) They still run them at Heartland, i'm sure. Next year they are going to Road America, which will produce better racing in my opinion. Hey at least you live near it! Edited November 15, 2008 by Nick F40
Nick F40 Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 Thanks for the schedule, as an old Formula Ford racer now I know what, when and where to watch! That's sweet, got any pictures/videos?
Nick F40 Posted November 26, 2008 Author Posted November 26, 2008 Did anyone watch the F production? I am wondering becuase on my tape I have this wierd, high pitched noise and was wondering if it is Speed's magnificant audio.
Zoom Zoom Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 They still run them at Heartland, i'm sure. Next year they are going to Road America, which will produce better racing in my opinion. Hey at least you live near it! My buddy goes every year to the runoffs, he crews for Pete Peterson who is an animal behind the wheel of his Celica. Pete Peterson wins Seventh GT3 championship The racers call the place "Too Bleak-a" instead of "Topeka". 'Nuff said...Road America will be a welcome venue.
Nick F40 Posted November 26, 2008 Author Posted November 26, 2008 Wow, thats awsome! He's lucky. I love that class, they are so cool and it's neat to see a Celica win. "Too Bleak-a" yeah Road America will definetly be the one
