Roadkill2525 Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Lately I've been detailing wheels and tires for fun using different technics, what are some of yours? AMT Firestone Wide Oval, white line done with India ink in groove Revell Cobra 427 and '32 Ford tires, Tamiya Bright Blue in groove like Goodyear Blue Streaks I'll get some wheels up later.
RyanSilva Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 The 427 cobra tires are the same ones included with the penske 427 corvette and the 1948 ford convertible, Ive done them with blue, red and gold lines,...super easy with acylics and the recessed area on the tire (like yours)
ddonaca351 Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 toothpics work good for me. the tip for grooves, or the side to color the tops of the letters.
Zoom Zoom Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 I like a technique I heard about...using a white fine-tip gel pen and a circle template to make whitewalls. It's pretty easy and painless, and if you mess up you can wipe it up w/a bit of alcohol and start over. Same circle template can be used to airbrush wide whites. If you spray acrylic or even Tamiya white primer, wipe the template clean w/some 91% rubbing alcohol after you're done.
