Hello. I need to build a set of zoomie headers to fit a funny car engine into the '66 Pro Street Nova in 1/24th scale. How would I open the ends of the solder wire to make it look like tubing? The zoomies currently exit right into the front wheel wells. I need them to exit behind the wheel wells  just in front of the doors. In the enclosed photo, I set the engine way back, but I'd rather not if I can replace the headers

You should be able to drill out the tips of the wire with a small drill bit. Get yourself a pin vise and set of small drill bits, you'll find a hundred uses for them. Go slow when drilling the tips so you don't expand the end of the solder.

Thanks a bunch for the tips guys. This is the first time that I've modified a model car this much.
