cruzn Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 Finally finished this one. 1/8 scale based on the Revell Golden T kit with scratch built body. More pics here. Al... thats a little to shiny for you send it to me.. LOL Nice Build..I Like it..
novadose71 Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 Very cool Al. I am finishing up a Big T right now, and the color of yours looks alot like mine. That wouldn't be Testors One coat Inca Gold, would it? If not, it sure looks like it...if so, how many cans did you go through, I still need to count mine. Anyway, very nice job on the C-cab conversion, and I really like the color
old-hermit Posted November 17, 2008 Author Posted November 17, 2008 (edited) Make me an offer I can't refuse Dwayne. That wouldn't be Testors One coat Inca Gold, would it? If not, it sure looks like it...if so, how many cans did you go through Yep, it's Testors Inca Gold Rob, and believe me it ain't "one coat". I had a major screw up on the clear coat and had to sand it down and redo it. Originally it took 6 cans for everything (body, frame, etc) then another 4 cans for the body repaint. I didn't clear coat it the second time, just a bath in Future Floor Wax. Edited November 17, 2008 by old-hermit
novadose71 Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 E-gads, and I thought I had problems with mine, your second try turned out way better. I sprayed the two coats on mine, but then sprayed 1 coat of HoK Lime gold candy over that, which is apparently a little hotter than Testors and it pulled the pigments out of the red plastic, through all previous coats and turned the body orange. AAAaarrrrggghhh. Some BIN sealer, two more coats color and the clear turned out rough(but not nearly as rough as your first try ) now I'm in the polishing stage and still not happy with it. I'm just calling it a "60's" lacquer job and it is what it is. Here's where I'm at..................
old-hermit Posted November 21, 2008 Author Posted November 21, 2008 Looks good Rob. Got any more pics ?
novadose71 Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 I should have it finished this weekend, I'll post a thread here in this section after I get the pics taken.
