The Creative Explorer Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Hi all, Thanks for looking at my newest, it is the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 12 cilinder front-engined supercar. I used the kit from Fujimi from the famous Enthusiast series. That series is just marvelous, I love them. Much detail has been added and while I am a beginner, I am pleased with the progress I have made with my skills. Although I see a lot to improve, the learning-curve is steep, but it takes time. Please drop me a line with your comment and (supported) criticism.
crispy Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Beautiful car and you did it justice. I'm still scared of the EM kits, but have them and when I feel ready will dive into one. Erik, the only thing I have to comment about though are the panel lines. To me they look a little dark. Other than that I think it looks great! I believe yours is the first I have seen with the exposed headlights. Most of the time they are left as the flip ups. That sets it apart for sure. Again, Great Job! Chris
Nick F40 Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Man, I have no complaints, you did a bang up job Erik! I love the coupe', love the exposed fixed lights, that V12 and everything You know I love it!
randx0 Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 I think you did a great job on this one especially under the hood! in regards to the dark panel lines, try using the same color you use on the body darkened with a drop or two of black. keep showing us what you're up too!
simonr Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 (edited) Man, you're a beginner of what?...you're already ahead!...Oh what a great picture that last one on the first post(side view), looks so real. Just keep the good work and stay practicing...jajaja, you're doing really good! Simón P. Rivera Torres Edited November 20, 2008 by simonr
The Phenom Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 hey steef, good work !! looks so real, great paint ,great detail!!
The Creative Explorer Posted November 22, 2008 Author Posted November 22, 2008 Thanks so much guys, I am flattered! I do agree on the panel lines, I always use a marker, but my marker was gone and I used one which is to thick, so it didn't come out really nice. I bought a new marker yesterday and see how that will go
Brendan Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Very nicely done on the Ferrari. Motor nicely detailed and wired, along with the heat shielding under the hood. I am with Chris, though, in that the panel lines are a little too dark. That's an area I often have problems with. I'm always worried I'm going to mess up the finish.

There is a real good article at Italianhorses.com on how to do panel lines.
The Creative Explorer Posted November 27, 2008 Author Posted November 27, 2008 Thanks, I will try to find that article and see if I can learn something from it.
crowe-t Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Erik, This is beautiful! I like the clear covers over the headlights. I assume you scratch built the headlight areas.
