Hi, not done this before so please bear with me. I have a ford focus rs500 1:18 scale to sell and my son has just destroyed the box. Is there a difference between one with and without a box and any idea on that cost? Please help?

I prefer when I buy a car for my collection that it be in the box. I will buy loose if price is right or if I can not find a boxed example. My main reason for me, is because when boxed I can double stack them in my cabinets and get more inside. As far as price for your car I can not say. Look on ebay and see what others are asking. Good luck.

Thanks for the response. As do I to be fair. I have looked on Ebay for the same but they all come with a box. The polystyrene bit of it is still on tact. Would you be interested in buying?

It depends on the rarity, but since you're in the uk and its a fast ford you could get more than you expect for it. I would list it on ebay towards the beginning of feb and make sure to list the scale and brand. January isn't very good for getting good prices. If you use ford and rs500 as seperate tags you'll get more hits on it, and a low starting price might help too, but be sure to have a reserve near what you want to get. Also when it sells be sure to pack it well as some buyers aren't very fair when it comes to condition received and will try to claim something back. Maybe filming yourself packing it and writing the address could offer you some protection from that. Looking at ebay there a burago with 3 days to go currently at £36 but the majority are around £60 and up with boxes.

Great thanks for the reply. I will list with no box and see what happens. I could always try to repair the box and send it with the car and buyer can do what they like with it.

I wouldn't do to much to the box, just get it back so it will hold the inner but state in the listing that the box is damaged and include pics of it. I would still list it as no box due to it being damaged. More pics is always good in a listing and if theres any scratches or damage be sure to include pics of it and mention it also in the listing. Dont be surprised if it gets a few watchers but no bids until near the end, ford guys can be pretty tight in the uk, lol
