Andrew D the Jolly Roger Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Any differences between the standard Revell 71 GTX kit and the re-release as the Fast & Furious Dom's vehicle? Such as, molded in different color or differences in chrome? Thanks!
CapSat 6 Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 The Revell '71 GTX's were molded in white (including the F&F car), although the first release from around 1994 was molded in yellow. The F&F car is more or less the same as the '71 GTX releases, except that the Air Grabber hood in the '71 GTX has been replaced with the standard twin scoop hood, and the 4 barrel intake manifold, carb and air cleaner from the old "'71 Satellite" release have been added back in, with new F&F parts (new wheels and tires, brakes, dropped suspension pieces). The only thing I see different from the 71 GTX release is that the Air Grabber hood is not included, but the 6 Barrel intake, Air Grabber under-hood mechanism, stock tires and wheels, etc. are still included. The F&F car I have was molded in a white plastic that seems a little rubbery to me.
Andrew D the Jolly Roger Posted March 12, 2021 Author Posted March 12, 2021 Perfect, very helpful; the hood isn't an issue, but the lesser-quality plastic is. Thanks!
