Greetings all.

Building my first kit in 30 years, Monogram's 1955 Chevy ragtop (not the original kit but the current version issued as Revell-Monogram).  I've got a lot of car modeling experience but this is the first time for photo etched details.

Is is best to put them on before paint, or after?  Does it even matter?  Personal preference?  Pros & cons?

Thanks!

They're designed to be added after paint.  They are thin enough that most paint jobs would bury them.

What I figured.

Thank you, sir!

Welcome to our plastic playground George.

I've been lurking around here for years, never posted anything before.  Wasn't motivated enough to work on any of the kits on the shelf.

Back in the 1990s, built many kits.  Factory stock preferred.

Thanks for the welcome!
