I just finished this for a community build project on another board.

Trumpeter kit Built straight out of the box.

Paint is Testors One coat Mystical Maroon.

Added BMF, Flocking, and Plug wires.

Excellent job on the Nova....Beautiful color scheme.......... :) ...................The Trumpeter kit is a work of art in its own...nice, crisp details......the lil' 6-banger motor is nicely detailed as well......................... I have two of these kits, and one is being built as a pro-street.

Yes it did Raul. Original engines for the 1st generation Nova were a 153 CI 4 cylinder & a 194 CI 6 cylinder. In fact, the SBC wasn't a factory available option for the Nova until the 1964 model year, though some dealers had been installing the SBC in them prior to 64. The SS option debuted for the Nova in the 1963 model year, & thus were 6 or 4 cylinder powered, (I suspect that the SS may have only been available with a 6, or that at the least, the majority of 63 Nova SS's were powered by a 6). The 4 cylinder remained an option in the Nova line through the 1970 model year. Since the Nova convertibles were only built in 62 & 63, there is no factory V-8 powered Nova convertible ever built.

Super lookin Nova Ed. I like the entire look of the build. Good idea with the six banger, and a good job on the detail work.............. :blink:

Excellant job! Yeah you better believe it ,Novas came with a six. Man you should have been at my house in the late 60's when these guys came over to hang around with my older sister. The one guy brought his yellow 60's Nova ,I don't remember if it had crager wheels, but I'm sure it had a rake to it. Man this guy had a crush on my sister.

Nope, no 4 cylinder SS Novas as far as I know. They were available with the 6 cylinder only as far as all the information I have read or the people I have talked to has told me. From what I understand, the V8 became the standard issue engine in the SS models starting in the 66-67 body styles, with the 283 as the base engine and the 327 as the optional upgrade.

If you need info on these cars, check out NovaResource.com. It's run by Scott Windle and he has been gathering information on these cars for years!

I've had a passion for these cars ever since my sister gave me a 1969 4 door Nova when I was 8 years old. I actually owned that car until just a few years ago, but unfortunately Rust and a tree falling across it finally did it in. I currently have a 1965 Nova 4 door with the 194 CI 6 Cylinder in it and a 1969 Nova 2 door with the 153 CI 4 cylinder (Engine is in the garage under a workbench - a 250 CI 6 cylinder is in it right now until I can find replacement motor mounts for the 4!)

Now on to the model,

I definitely like it!

The only thing I never have liked on these models is the outside rear view mirror is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too tall! On the real cars, they are much shorter and the base is narrower.
