Cant attach pictures from my phone

This just started recently. When i click the link for click to choose files, and hit files. It defaults to Recent, which is empty. When I click pictures on the folder list it completely locks up.

 

Currently i have to email myself the pictures to my my laptop and to post them

Did you go through the basics like rebooting the phone by turning it off and on again?  

Recently my wife’s iPhone was doing odd things.  She didn’t know how to turn it off.. she thought logging out (turning the screen off) was it.

I rebooted it, dumped a load of her photos to the computer and updated the software. Her issue was that her phone was too full, and couldn’t even do software updates.

i did reboot it. unfortunately it didnt help. i dont have the same issue with my email on my phone. i can attach pics ok on that

I am having the same problem, started about the same time. I can plug my phone into my laptop and attach pics from my phone, but can't load them directly from my phone. Always worked before.

I have rebooted my phone and tried resizing the pics 

I have an aging galaxy s5, if that makes a difference, using the Internet browser that came with the phone.
