1948Ron Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 I modeled this after a real truck that sets outside an antique store in the Ann Arbor area. Real trucks been there for years and pretty faded, so I painted this one to match. May try to find decsls to leter the model like the original.
Tom Geiger Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Nice model! Do you have photos of the original. I often get inspired like this and build replicas!
1948Ron Posted April 28, 2021 Author Posted April 28, 2021 Guys, Don't have pictures of the real truck. If I can get out there I will, because I may find a way to letter this like the original. Trying to gather enough parts to build a replica of my 1956 Ford F350 with its 9 foot bed. Also try to build a 1940 Ford Fodor that mimicks a drawing done on a Bob Drake calender back around 1990. It was of an army car, olive drab with '40's army markings on the side. Also I have been on a kick lately to build replicas of cars I have owned, Just finishing a 1966 Mustang coupe.
tim boyd Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 Ron.....is your 1/1 scale inspiration the truck that sits outside the Dixboro General Store? Sure looks like it.....! TIM
