1st 700 Quad Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 What with the death of Testors, what is anyone using to replace the spray metallizers that the had in their line? I have acquired a Hawk Graf Zeppelin kit and since zeppelins were covered with a metalized fabric I was wondering what I could to try to duplicate the finish. Figures I'd get one right after Testors stops making just what I would need......
Bainford Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 I am grieving the loss of Model Master Metalizers. I'm still working on my stash of paint, so haven't tried others yet. Alclad makes a line of 'metal' paints that I'm curious to have a go. I am also quite interested in some of the metal paints offered by AK Interactive. They have two lines of metal paints, Xtreme Metal and True Metal. Xtreme Metal Paints is a paint in a bottle, and True Metal Paints is in a tube, so I assume is thick like some artists paints. I think there are some good options amongst that bunch. I will always miss Model Master Aluminum Plate Buffing Metalizer, though. That stuff is magic.
