rv1963 Posted December 9, 2008 Author Posted December 9, 2008 Thanks guys, the toilet seat idea came about because what guy wouldn't be comfortable sitting there reading a hot rod magazine while some one else does the driving a few beers and your in heaven

Bernard Kron Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 ... the engine is a Chevy overhead valve straight 8 and there is no such engine i converted it from the old Corvette blue flame 6. No, no, no! That's no ordinary straight 8. That's a hgh performance tirbocharged Chevy straight 8 with the full rust option !
RadRidesByDan Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Thanks guys for all the great comments and i really like the toilet seat to, the engine is a Chevy overhead valve straight 8 and there is no such engine i converted it from the old Corvette blue flame 6. Thats gotta be the NASTIEST RatRod Ive ever seen....I LOVE IT....THAT CAR IS SOOOOOO COOOOOOL!!!!!!!! As for the motor.....it does resemble something like this straight 8 plue the turbo http://bowlertransmissions.com/itemdetails.aspx?iid=432
paul@detaildownunder Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Awesome Build! the details are well done, luv it!!
rv1963 Posted December 10, 2008 Author Posted December 10, 2008 (edited) Awsome i didn't know Buick made an overhead valve straight 8 very cool and thanks for the info i guess my idea wasn't as original as i thought but i still had fun building it. Edited December 10, 2008 by rv1963
Daniel Peterson Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Wow! What a piece of ######! But I mean that in the best possible way! It is really one nasty, dingy, crusty, need a tetanus shot after riding in it kind of hot rod. Bitchin'!! I love it!
rv1963 Posted December 11, 2008 Author Posted December 11, 2008 Thanks Daniel if it were human it would have an attitude problem. I like cars with attitude.
RadRidesByDan Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Awsome i didn't know Buick made an overhead valve straight 8 very cool and thanks for the info i guess my idea wasn't as original as i thought but i still had fun building it. Your Idea is as original as it gets.....this was the first time I ever seen a OHV straight 8 used in a ratrod, custom, hotrod or any other build in matter of fact. When I saw your build i had remembered a long time ago seeing a real engine and I had to find it last night. It was with no intention of taking anything away from your originality Excellent build
rv1963 Posted December 11, 2008 Author Posted December 11, 2008 (edited) Thanks guys all these great comments have inspired me to build another one i think a 55 chevy rat, no offense taken Dan glad to have the info i book marked that one. Edited December 11, 2008 by rv1963
Rudy Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 WOW. I love this car!!!! The toilet seat is so original!!! The straigt 8 is cool as ever too. I love to see odball engines in 1:1 cars and models. If I see one more ford hotrod with a Small Block Chevy in it I am going to puke!!! Looks excellent. How long did it take you to get good at weathering? Rudy
rv1963 Posted December 12, 2008 Author Posted December 12, 2008 (edited) Thanks Rudy, i think i have been weathering model cars on and of for about 3 years. This is the first time i have done the rust and peeling paint this way and it really wasn't to difficult to produce. Edited December 12, 2008 by rv1963
