Hey guys,

I've been super extra busy this last week and a half (worked 70 hours last week, will have at least 70 again this week) and my model time is limited. I've still got to decal the sileighty I finished in tribute to my mom,

up next is my 68 Camaro....

no pic

it took this pic last night before I did some sanding and brainstorming. This is my first attempt at making fender flares and I think the back will be the only ones to get them. The hood has had the blower hole covered by the optional hood scoop from an 86 elky kit(long gone but a few parts remain) and I'm smoothing it. The body will have some other tweaks as well...like I said I brainstormed last night and mocked this up...

no pic

after I did some sanding....what do you guys think? its an optional front bumper from a fujimi s13 silvia kit, and I may cut it up and mold it in(it won't hang as low nor will it jut out so far) to give the car a bit of a road racer look. The engine will have a scratched up/resin'd efi system on top of the kit block and the wheels i'm using are shown. Paint color is probably going to testors dusty rose pearl...this one may not get finished all that soon from now.

heres some more

oh and in case you guys are wondering whats going on in the background with the Hilux..well I was never happy with the chrome wheels on it(and my original idea had black wheels) so they are sitting in the csc tank now as well, and the other night I was going thru my wheel case and slapped these wide and wider fujimi rims up there and thought it looked cool kind of cool..

Alright guys i'm gone, any comments and critiques are welcome..

Thanks

Cool! I've seen those Cappuccinos in my trips and a Miata looks as big as a '75 Cadillac convertible next to it :D

alright time for an update and a poll of sorts.....I moved my photo hosting around so thats what happened to all my pics.....haven't done much work to the camaro since i'm waiting on a care package of Reliable Resin stuffs to see how they look, I did add a small truck lid spoiler which will get molded in...I made it from the back bumper from the kit and it looks suprisingly good there. Anyway I've got a serious wheel fetish...i've got way too many for my own good. I've narrowed it down to these 2 sets...set one is a set of aoshima Gartmairs(sp?) with a wide lip I casted on the back. set 2 is my own home grown wheels based off the salt flat specials in the revell 57 chevy kit, these have been trimmed down, sport a resin wide lip front and rear, and have a set of revell c5 vette tires wrapped around them... what do you guys think? I've got another set of the 57 wheels(which as soon as money allows the purchase of rtv i'll cast a few sets...lol) and i've got a serious itch to use em on everything cause they look so cool to me..(visions of a trailer for the camaro and a 454ss truck tow vehicle are very vivid..). Oh and I cut that silvia bumper down alot...and while I'm not sure, once I get another type of front spoiler to try on it i'll make my decision.... anyway guys let me know...comments and critiques are welcome

I'm a big fan of those salt flat specials too but...I like the Aoshimas on this Camaro. The size is just right, and it's got a great pro touring look. Just my two cents.

Nice fender flares, by the way!

Hey guys,

not much to really show this month, making preparations for the baby and stuff. I did do a little more work to the camaro and I think I may have finally decided on a set of wheels..lol

so far on the camaro i've added the fender flares in the back, dremeled out the front flares(got rid of the lip under where the flare ends) and filled in the lower stip on the car, still to do is come up with a suitable front lip(similar to whats shown) more body work with the molded in trunk spoiler, and general smoothing of the body work. Its sporting a reliable resin hood, grill, and 69 camaro race interior tub which is still be fitted at the moment(revell tub amt chassis..actually fits better than the amt tub), motor will be loosely based on the lt-5 from the amt wagon rod kit...:D

anyway enough babbling..here are the pics

next up is a Revell 56 chevy for my soon to be born daughter(gotta get her started early on being a car nut..lol) this will be mostly box stock, with some minor detailing, shaved the emblems and it will be slammed, and might have a cool efi system made for the engine.

lastly is a fujimi s13 silvia built as an american 240sx thats been converted over to the jdm front end and is daily driven...nothing over the top, just general jdm clean..lol

enjoy guys....these may be the last for a short while since the baby will be here any day and she'll be keeping me busy for a little while(which i'm not complaining one bit!..I can't wait to see her)

Hey guys, not much time this week for body work(worked 24 hours of ot) but i've been messing with the motor some. The motor is based off of the amt wagon rod lt-5, a nice gm dohc motor. I added an old school hilborn style efi induction from some option parts in the amt 53 ford truck(after making a mold of them..i'll use em some more) the ram tubes are nothing more than 1/8th inch eyelets sold in a pack of 100 for 3 bucks in the scrapbooking section of micheals. its going to have some more stuff done to make it look a little more vintage tech but this is what its going to be. I also have been messing with rims again..the one shown is from a messed up rim from the revell chevelle wagon, and the wheel from a 65 chevelle z-16 kit, i'm trying to find something that has a vitage look, but is is a modern size. I just dipped em into some fresh csc and i'll see how they look with some more shaping.

as always comments and critiques are always welcome.

not much new except the addition of a front lip spoiler made from the kits front bumper, and new filler panel in the back for dual exhausts(from an amt 65 mustang) and more work to the sides where I tried to remove the chrome strip(would have left it there if I were to do this all over) Wheels will finally be the ones that came from the 66 Chevelle wagon. The interior needs a liitle more work but its a reliable resin race tub with revell 69 Camaro sides and dash. seats will either be c5 corvette or a set of r34 skyline units. Color will be tamiya mica red over gunmetal with some spaz stix red/gold flip in the clear. as always guys comments and criticisms are welcome.

Above all else, I like the rear fender flares. They are not over-done in size and match, very well, with the type of car you are building. No complaints on the rest of the work either.

Bob

I like it! Very tough looking. And the bigger American Daisy wheels are nostalgia mixed with modern pro-touring. Nice work so far!
