ls1 powered 69 camaro

hey every body im new here. my name is tyler, im 19, and ive built a couple models when i was younger and the last model i worked on was extreamly custom silverado that i was attempting to make it look like it was on airbags. built a full custom frame and all that jazz. i ended up moving out of my dads and he threw all of my models away cuz he said they were just in the way. so i stopped building models until i went on winter break this year for college. i wanted something to keep me busy when i wasnt working so i got a hair up my butt and said "hey ill build a model" i am now attempting to build my dream car which is an LS powered, lowerwed, candy apple red 69 camaro. i searched the web to get good ideas and motivation and ran across this site so here i am here are a few progress/ mock up picks. sorry about picture quality i need a new camera but i tried my best to make them the best they can be

the engine is out of a 98 firebird and the wheels are ws6 wheels from the same kit

by the way if the paint looks a little rough, it kinda is because i wet sanded it with some 1500-2000 grit because it had a couple pits i wasnt happy with so i still want to do another coat and then clear coat it

You are off to a good start and welcome to the forum. Be sure to post pix of the completed build and hopefully your camera will be better focused so we can enjoy them

Looking good so far Tyler. The retro-tech is a cool concept and a popular style build in 1:1 in this part of the world. Great colour choice for the 69 body as well. Looking forward to seeing this one done.

well figured i would give you guys an update. all i have left is the last few coats of paint on the body and then i gotta piece that together. its been way to cold to go out and paint in the garage so ive been putting it it off for a little warmer weather cuz i want the paint to be right. ill post pics when completed in the under glass section
