Well im new here. But heres whats on my bench. Its an 87 tbird turbo coupe by revell. It has a few twist though. First i cut open both doors and the trunk. Then i made some hinges out of sring wire from a set of carbs off my 250 ninja. I primered it and sprayed in testors blue with horrible results. So i had to strip it useing pinesol. Then it got re spayed with dollar store primer and gloss black much better. This car will be powered by a turbo charged 427 side oiler from an ac cobra model. I will be doing custom headers and a single turbo mounted under the car in the exhaust system. It will also have all fuel, brake, and coolant hoses. It will also have nitrous and rockford fosgate subs and amps mounted in the trunk with all lines and wires run. I am debateing on a working suspension still undecided. Hope you enjoy.

Well heres the newest. I have decided to Move away from the doors for a minute as they are driving me crazy. But still got alot done. I have made working suspension front and rear. I got my interior painted. I got the chassi painted an detailed with a flat black over silver wash. I got the engine wired. Stole headers from a chevey and modified to fit the 427. I got the inter cooler painted. Also got the stereo parts for the trunk. I made the suspension work by cutting everthing loose at the pivot point even the ujoints on the drive shaft. Then i heated straight pins and inserted through the joints were they moved and twisted until the plastic reset from the heat. The springs are from ink pens (wifes not to happy about that) then cut to length with side cutters. well heres the pics.

Welcome, and good looking start so far. As for my personal opinion, I would take the 2.3T motor/trans and stick it into the Cobra that gave its 427 for the T-Bird (but that is just me, being I own a real 2.3T powered Fox body).

I have plans for it in a mustangII model ive got. But i to have owned a couple of the 2.3turbo cars one 87 thunderbird and i think the other was a 85' mustang I love the little motor with a 5 speed behind it.

Nice body work so far...............but man are those A pillars delicate!! ;)

I might have temporarily braced the roof or something until I got the glass in as I'm paranoid about something that thin breaking. I hear you about the doors..........it can be a lot of trial and error to make sure everything works the way it should.

Keep us posted...........everything's coming together fine! :D

Man I dont even want to discuss a-pillars. I actually did brace them after I broke one lol. And the door hinges I had just sagged to much I am think of doing a four piece door hinge this time. Or possibly lambo doors, i'm undecided. But i appreciate comments ecspeacially from you. With all the great work you have done.

2.3T into a PintoStang..........sounds like you have been hanging out over at turboford.net!!

Easy I have had a couple of the mustangii's. And theres not that much in common with a pinto they are actually very good cars. Theres just not much aftermarket you gotta make parts youself. But that doesnt stop people like us.

But for an update heres some pics. I got the turbos made. Scratch built a trunk compartment out of a mini blind. Also built a sub box with mini blind.
