BIGTRUCK Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Changed out the fork assy, good thing theres alot of time till Feb.... tank is fitted and done , rear fender bobbed, front reshaped , little more work on the seat , figure out some better handle bars
Dag Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Thats a great start, where did the front end come from?
BIGTRUCK Posted September 23, 2006 Author Posted September 23, 2006 Had a lot of fun building something bigger than the normal 1/25th....this is pretty close to the final look...lay down some transparent blue over silver and gold and buff out the bare metal on the springer...the bars will be formed from brass tube pretty close to the shape thats on it now....
Dave Toups Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 That's going to be a nice bike! Where did you get the springer front end?
Matt T. Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Wicked! That is looking so good. I love your use of the skull air cleaner with the addition of the two venturi tubes. Springer fork looks to be from an $8 diecast I've seen on eBay? I just picked up a Shaker Trike that will donate the stretched springer forks to my next chopper.
BIGTRUCK Posted September 25, 2006 Author Posted September 25, 2006 Thanks guys , springer is from Biglots 1/12 die-cast....$5 bucks..fork pins in ..no fuss trying to paint around the forks with frame glued together, 2 piece fork 3 screws..........all parts interchange....1/2 metal....1/2 plastic
Matt T. Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Ken, thanks for the Big Lots tip! I just stopped by my local store at lunch and got a "springer donation chopper" for $6. Maybe I'll cut the forks closer to stock length and have a springer frontend for my old school bobber build.
