Pete J. Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 (edited) Just though I would throw up a set of pedals I finished for my 1:12 scale 935. These are Scale Motorsport parts combined with scratch built parts and original Tamiya parts. The clevises are photo etched soldered to the end of .017' wire. I turned the mounting shaft and fabricated the blocks from plastic. Edited January 5, 2009 by Pete J.
monkeyclaw Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Pete; AWESOME!!! That is a super nice pedal set; and will certainly add a nice bit of "POP" down in the footwell. That's why I love building thes big Tamiya Porsches....there are just so many thing like this that you can go through and super detail....and it really brings the models to life....Great work.............matt
MrObsessive Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Very NICE!! Perfect heel and toe positioning!

I wish that Tamiya would have kept building large scale coupes!
Pete J. Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 Thanks guys! I do enjoy the large scale. You can just keep on detailing. It is kind of hard to know when to stop. I guess that is why I am so excited about the GT 40. I think Matthew at SMS has a real treat in line for this beast. Should be as good as the 935 kit.
Nick F40 Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 I'll be watching for that GT40 Very NICE!! Perfect heel and toe positioning! Oh yeah! I'll second that!! I wish that Tamiya would have kept building large scale coupes! Well, how about that new Martini 935, I would love to see you build that.
Pete J. Posted January 4, 2009 Author Posted January 4, 2009 Well, how about that new Martini 935, I would love to see you build that. Can I ask what Martini 935 you are talking about? Is there a new one out there that I didn't know about?
CAL Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Can I ask what Martini 935 you are talking about? Is there a new one out there that I didn't know about? Updated Reissue of the old Tamiya Martini 935
Pete J. Posted January 5, 2009 Author Posted January 5, 2009 Just took some new referance photos for the second engine(the one that goes in the chassis) and thought some of you might find the display engine interesting. Enjoy
monkeyclaw Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Pete; Again, Awesome work....And I agree...it is hard to know where to stop detailing these kits!!! I really like the display frame concept... I plan to do a similar display engine for my own 1980 935K Sach's car....it's the only way to truly display ALL of the twin turbo engine mods....BTW, I REALLY like the added detail to the rear engine mounts.....Keep us posted.........matt

I would like to see the twin turbo! That has to be a lot of work. The frame is made of square brass tubing. That is about all that would hold it in such a leveraged position. I soldered in gussets for added strength. The rear mounts were fun. I learned how to do "weld seams" from the armor guys. Easy and I think they look much better that the photo etched stuff.
