ericmaxman Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 It has been quite a while since I last posted anyhting here, so here is my first WIP for 2k9. Fitment is not good at all. The chassis has to be squeezed in before it can mount on to the body. Other than that, all is fine. As for body color, I think the car will be dark blue. Feedback are welcomed at this stage.
MrObsessive Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Nice primer job goin' there Eric! Y'know, I think I've only ever seen that model BMW only once here in the states. For whatever reason, it wasn't a big seller here unlike all the other BMW's you see on the streets. A dark blue will look fantastic..............especially a metallic midnight blue!
B-dub Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 sweet I love the bmws from that year style maybe not the compact so much but it is still cool
ericmaxman Posted January 9, 2009 Author Posted January 9, 2009 I see a few of them areond here in Columbus. I think that they are unpopular because for the same $ you could get the sedan w/ a 6 cyl. IIRC, the 318Ti (as they were known here) was only available w/ the 1.8L 4 cyl. As Promised, Here are my pics: Nice, Mike. How did you get the silver into the center of the lights? I was thinking of dabbing some silver paint on some toothpick and slowly doing it that way. I cant find any finer tip silver marker. (Yup, I'm using a marker pen). Oh, after looking long and hard at at box art, it will be changed to red.

Yeah, that color would be nice. Nice one Mike, I have seen a few but yeah, not so good in the US, not sure why.
ericmaxman Posted January 11, 2009 Author Posted January 11, 2009 A little update. Body sprayed with metallic silver and red. The outcome does look quite odd though..
Rob Hall Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Cool...never knew that kit existed. I have two E36 generation 3 series kits--the Dragon M3 (had to get that one, since it was similar to my 1:1) and the Tamiya 4dr (which was a Revell of Germany tool, IIRC).
