Twist67 Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Hi there, It´s a while since I posted here the last time. I just restarted my in progress since more than a year Ford C-600.The truck came from the old US-Mail kit.The wheels are resincast from the Revell Peterbilt Alaskan Hauler, the decals are selfmade with my Alps. I made the frontaxle steerable. The yellow is automotive paint from a rattlecan and the dark blue is mixed Tamiya paint. The frame will get some wireing and some other details. More will follow later, Regards,Chris
RyanSilva Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Impressive Chris! I love these old single axle Fords, nice color choice...cant wait to see what is next. Chris could you do me a favor and measure the height of the frame rails on the chassis? millimeters is fine, I might be building a scratch chassis for a F-8 (1950) and want to see if plastruct or evergreen has a similiar size. thanks, regards!
Twist67 Posted January 10, 2009 Author Posted January 10, 2009 Hi, Ryan, thanks. I made some progress on the ford.My friend Uwe(Oldstyle) and me made some new two holes yesterday and I put them on the truck.Looking way better than the old ones. And here are some progress shots.Frame wired and painted with an extra box on the passenger side. "only" have to do the engine and the interior...details and light weathering. More will follow, soon. Thanks for looking, Cheers Chris
Aaronw Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 (edited) Nice looking Ford. Ryan, the frame rails on the C-600 kit are 3/8" x 1/8", Evergreen has 24" strips that size (0.125 x 0.375"). Edited January 11, 2009 by Aaronw

Jim B Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Chris, You really do amazing work. Your attention to detail is incredible. I don't know what "year" your C-600 is going to be, but here are some brochure photos I found earlier while researching ideas for my C-900. This is from the 1973 brochure: http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thsca...72/page_04.html And these are from the 1977 bruchure: http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thsca...rd-c-77-04.html http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thsca...rd-c-77-05.html Here's a decent shot of the Ford V-8 Super Duty engine (like in the kit) http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thsca...2/page_06a.html By the way, what I discovered is that the 534 c.i.d. SD V-8 was only available on the C-900. The C-600 had a 300 c.i.d. HD Six, a 330 c.i.d. HD V-8, or a 361 c.i.d. HD V-8. http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thsca...72/page_06.html http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thsca...72/page_07.html
