Revell 49 Merc flames on a AMT 49/50 Ford

Has anyone tried the flamed decals from the Revell '49 Merc on an AMT 49/50 Ford? On the hood specifically? Please let me know or show me how it went. Thanks.

Make a copy of the decal sheet on plain paper (make sure the copy is exactly the same size as the original), cut up the copy, and try it for fit.
